Stars of the Soccer FIFA World Cup 2010

Who was the best goalkeeper of the Soccer FIFA World Cup 2010? You now have a chance to have your say on the forums. They gave it to Iker Casillas of Spain. That is a decision that is not entirely popular. Just because someone won the cup does not mean that they were the best player. There was an element of luck in the Soccer FIFA World Cup 2010. He was not really threatened and the award should go to people that had to fight off those goals time and time again. Those are the real heroes of the Soccer FIFA World Cup 2010 and they deserve plenty of recognition.
The fair play award sent to Spain. Once again the final prize seems to be working but if you look at the figures they are telling. They had eight yellow cards in seven games and five of them were in the final. That is not a particularly good record and I personally would not have given them that award. However it seems that the winner takes it all and the loser must just suck it up.
America or team USA was just a revelation. They did not win the victories outright but they never disgraced themselves. In fact it was a revelation to see the team doing so well. I have never understood why such a great sporting nation is not interested in soccer in the sense that it goes with baseball. Some people have given the explanation that they like high scoring. I do not buy that because many of the games that they like require some effort. However the team was absolutely brilliant in the Soccer FIFA World Cup 2010. Those that never gave them a chance of winning were left with egg on their faces. It was a sight to behold. Hopefully the USA can come back and win the cup at some stage. That would be a turn up for the books. It would also ensure that they were at the forefront of all the different celebrations for the first time.

US Open Tennis is right around the corner, and tickets for the NFL and College Football season are on sale now! Also, don't forget about World Series tickets and the Superbowl just around the corner!

Let the NFL American Football games begin

It seems that Bryant is not entirely happy with some of the rituals that go with NFL American Football. It is something of a courageous step to take and it will divide opinion depending on whether you are a traditionalist or a reformer. Apparently the rookie ritual of carrying pads is just not his thing and he has made it clear that he will not be playing ball with this one. The Dallas Cowboys have not yet responded but one must imagine that there are some ripples that are going through after such a Diva display. Apparently Dez Bryant just wants to catch passes and not to carry other people’s shoulder pads after the practice session. The person that he snubbed was Roy Williams. On the one hand you can have sympathy for the personal pride but on the other there are many great players that have done this. One might wonder whether in fact Dez Bryant is beginning to be too big for his boots. Sometimes humility can take you very far. This ritual is not about humiliating the players but rather an acknowledgement of the people that have had experience.
It has been reported that Tod Leiweke has now resigned as chief executive officer for Vulcan Sports and Entertainment. This means that he will no longer have the close association with the Seattle Seahawks. This is a major development for the team and they might have to do some adjustment at the top as the NFL American Football season takes hold. There is also some worrying news that Sergio Kindle has fractured his skull and therefore will miss the training sessions with the Baltimore Ravens. This happened during a private visit to Texas. There are discussions about the time when Marcus McNeill will return to training. This has been a news story for quite some while and it appears that the team is anxious to get back to work instead of feeding the speculation that is heating up the blogs on the internet. Hopefully the matter will be resolved amicably.

Kobe Bryant is declared an icon

For many people outside the United States of America, the name Kobe Bryant is synonymous with the NBA Basketball Finals. He has become one of the greatest players that the game has ever seen and is now challenging the great achievements of Michael Jordan. There have been some moments of controversy and he is not universally liked but there is no doubt that he is a compelling personality on his day and it appears that this will likely carry him through to the very end as one of the greats that the NBA Basketball Finals have ever seen. He is now on his second MVP award and can also boast that he is a five time champion in the game. Not many players can boast such credentials in their resume and yet he is still playing the game.
The career of Kobe Bryant has been nothing short of magnificent. He had some shooting problems but is often the case with our great icons; he managed to pull through in the end. The final results was eight three points to seventy nine for the Boston Celtics. This means that Los Angeles retains the crown that they won last season and there can be no doubt that Kobe has helped them towards this great goal. At the end of the day he had twenty three points and fifteen rebounds. None of his peers are at his level at the moment in terms of contribution to the NBA Basketball Finals and the game in general.
The way that the play of Kobe has been developed is not a surprise given the way that he has been able to have relative consistency. There is no doubt that the technique has been perfected and the resilience is there. Even when people write some rather unpleasant things he still there to win. There is also the ability to blend his unique talents into the team spirit and ensure that he is helping them to win rather than just boosting his ego. This is what the NBA Basketball Finals needs.
